Parallel imports in Kazakhstan are difficult, says Vladimir Matyagin, head of the Gruzavtotrans association. Trucking companies now have to bypass Kazakhstan, using China, Iran, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia to deliver sanctioned goods.

“Kazakhstan creates difficulties for sanctioned goods at the border, which is actually closed to suppliers,” Vladimir Matyagin said.
From April 1, Kazakhstan began to introduce electronic supervision over the movement of goods with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The measure should allow to reduce the shadow turnover and eliminate tax losses.
