The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia held a field conference on measures to support industrial infrastructure and industrial clusters

The Chelyabinsk Region hosted a two-day traveling practical conference dedicated to the creation of a regional industrial infrastructure (industrial parks, industrial technoparks). Experts and participants discussed the preparation of projects for the creation and development of parks, as well as joint projects of industrial clusters for participation in competitive events to be held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and other federal executive authorities in 2022.

The conference was attended by more than 150 representatives of regional executive authorities in the field of industry, regional development corporations, regional industrial development funds, as well as management companies of parks and enterprises – participants in industrial clusters. As part of the business program of the event, more than 35 projects for the creation and development of parks, as well as joint projects of industrial clusters were presented. In addition, the participants got acquainted with the industrial potential and regional support measures of the Chelyabinsk region on the example of the MMK industrial park and 5 industrial clusters.

A representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia read out a welcoming speech to the organizers and participants of the conference on behalf of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

“The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia annually holds practical events aimed at preparing projects for industrial parks, industrial technology parks and industrial clusters. We traditionally hold such events in the regions so that participants can not only present their projects, but also get acquainted in practice with the work of these mechanisms support.

In 2021, the architecture of state support measures for these mechanisms was significantly updated, which made it possible to expand the possibilities of supporting both public and private projects. The Chelyabinsk region was chosen to host the event as one of the most active regions in the field of regional industrial policy. Support measures and benefits for parks and clusters are being implemented in the region, and the regional industrial development fund is also successfully operating. I am sure that studying the experience of the region will allow other regions to implement similar support measures,” he said.

The participants of the opening ceremony were also greeted by the Vice-Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Yegor Kovalchuk.

“I am glad to welcome you to the Chelyabinsk Region, one of the leading industrial centers of the Southern Urals and the entire Ural Federal District, participants and guests of the practical conference. We pay a lot of attention to the creation and development of such facilities as parks and clusters. The development of such sites is , first of all, an effective tool for the development of medium and small enterprises in the region, as well as one of the ways to attract extra-budgetary investments for the development of infrastructure sites,” he stressed.

The Chelyabinsk Region is the leader in the number of existing and emerging parks and clusters in the Urals Federal District. Today, 7 industrial parks and 2 industrial technoparks operate and are being created in the region, and 7 industrial clusters operate in the region.
